Season opener: to the bridge and back!

The club is planning on a season opener ride to the old Severn Bridge and back leaving The Lockies at 9am. FINAL ROUTE AND TIMINGS TO BE CONFIRMED

Just short of a Metric Century, at 60.3 miles with 2,321 ft elevation gain this marks the traditional start to the club season. The only notable climb is Taits Hill which is 1.6 miles @ 3.1% on the road between Berkeley and Lower Cam. There will be some form of refreshment stop around the Severn Bridge. More details to come

    Sport (17-19 mph) and Intermediate Ride (15-16 mph): 9am from the Upper Lock café.

    The route leaves Stroud via Ebley Road, and then heads up the legendary local climb of Frocester Hill.

    A fast descent down Crawley Hill is followed by a looping route around the Severn Vale, with some sharp ramps up to Selsley west at the end of the ride.

    Sport (17-19 mph) and Intermediate Ride (15-16 mph): 9am from the Upper Lock café.

    A flat start followed by a climb up the scarp from Uley.

    Rolling roads, with an optional cafe stop at Jolly Nice, lead round to a climb from Sapperton to Bisley.

    The ride follows familiar roads to Cam, and goes up and down the edge of Stinchcombe Hill. A sharp climb out of Damery is followed by the fast and flat roads of the Severn Vale.

    Up and out of Stroud via main roads to Pitchcombe and Edge, the route tackles the famous 'Longney Loop' clockwise, followed by a trip down to Arlingham and back
